Raluca F1 Team Leader, Danial Iman, said participation in the `F1 In Schools' provides a lot of valuable knowledge and experience to members.
He said, participants learn new technology using CAD (Computer Aided Design) and CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) to design, analyze and produce the car.
CAD method allows participants to create and analyze the effectiveness of the F1 cars are real. Design was formed using CAM software before tested in a windy and smoky tunnel. The last challenge is that each team racing at the track during the 0:02 or 66 miles away.
Telling about the second race, Danial Iman representing his team to the final session of the race `knock-out ', said he was a big responsibility to provide fast response to ensure victory in favor of him.

Design engineer on the team, Haziq, said preparation for two years worth because they are exposed to the field range of knowledge and skills including design, analysis, aerodynamic testing, business and marketing plans and finding sponsors.

The competition this time saw an American Racing Unitus represented students from James Madison Middle School, Virginia, and Southeast High School, Florida, United States named as the winner enable them to take home the championship trophy Bernie Ecclestone and Motor Sport Engineering scholarships at City University, London .

BH - Oct 6, 2010 KELAJUAN dan kebisingannya mungkin tidak sehebat perlumbaan Formula 1 (F1) sebenar, tetapi Pertandingan Dunia `F1 In Schools' mempunyai kehebatannya tersendiri apabila berjaya mengumpulkan 25 pasukan dari 18 negara.
Semua pasukan menunjukkan kehebatan masing-masing dalam menghasilkan reka bentuk kereta menggunakan kayu balsa.
Peserta juga menampilkan kemahiran dalam mempertahankan ciri-ciri kejuruteraan yang ada pada kereta di depan dua jurutera, melalui pemeriksaan teknikal.
Aspek lain termasuk menyiapkan reka bentuk ruang pameran (pit stop) dan menyediakan portfolio setebal 20 muka surat juga diambil kira.
Seramai 25 panel juri bertanggungjawab menilai persembahan dan hasil ciptaan peserta pada pertandingan kali keenam itu yang berlangsung di Politeknik Ngee Ann, Singapura, baru-baru ini.
Tahun ini, pasukan Raluca F1 dari Sekolah Dato Abdul Razak (SDAR), Seremban, Negeri Sembilan mewakili negara pada pertandingan itu.
Pengalaman berharga itu lebih bermakna kerana pasukan itu dinobatkan sebagai juara bagi kereta terpantas kategori `knock-out'.
Rekaan itu mencatat kelajuan 1.251 persaat, mengalahkan pasukan gabungan Australia dan Emiriah Arab Bersatu iaitu Zer0.9 yang mencatat masa 1.332 persaat.
Selain bergelar juara, ruang pameran Pasukan Raluca F1 yang diwakili Haziq Asyraf Marzuki, Mohamed Hussein Haro, Danial Iman Che Khalib dan Wan Faiq Amsyar Wan Arifin diletakkan sebagai enam terbaik daripada 25 pasukan.
Ketua Pasukan Raluca F1, Danial Iman, berkata penyertaan dalam `F1 In Schools' memberi banyak pengetahuan dan pengalaman berharga kepada ahli.
Katanya, peserta mempelajari teknologi baru menggunakan perisian CAD (Computer Aided Design) dan CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) untuk mereka bentuk, menganalisis dan menghasilkan kereta.
Kaedah CAD membolehkan peserta mencipta kereta F1 dan menganalisis keberkesanannya secara maya. Rekaan itu dibentuk menggunakan perisian CAM sebelum diuji dalam terowong berangin dan berasap. Cabaran terakhir ialah perlumbaan setiap pasukan di atas trek sepanjang 0.02 kilometer atau 66 kaki.
Menceritakan mengenai detik perlumbaan, Danial Iman yang mewakili pasukannya ke peringkat akhir sesi perlumbaan `knock-out', berkata dia memikul tanggungjawab besar untuk memberikan reaksi terpantas bagi memastikan kemenangan berpihak kepadanya.
"Pada sesi `knock-out', suasana meriah dengan tepukan semangat rakan senegara mencemaskan. Pada saat itu saya perlu bersedia memberikan reaksi terpantas supaya kereta memecut lebih awal.
"Saya bersyukur kerana berkat usaha keras, kami berjaya mencatat masa reaksi terpantas pada sesi berkenaan iaitu 1.237 persaat. Kepantasan ini membawa kemenangan kepada Malaysia dengan kelajuan 1.250 persaat," katanya.
Jurutera Reka Bentuk pasukan berkenaan, Haziq, berkata persiapan dua tahun berbaloi kerana mereka didedahkan dengan pel bagai pengetahuan dan kemahiran antaranya mereka bentuk, membuat analisis, menguji aerodinamik, rancangan perniagaan dan pemasaran serta mencari penaja.
"Ia bukan tugas mudah sebaliknya memerlukan komitmen, pengalaman dan kemahiran berkomunikasi yang tinggi supaya kita dapat membuat persembahan dengan baik," katanya yang berbangga usaha berkenaan mendapat tajaan Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Airport Limosin, Tranz-i Technology dan Alumi SDAR.
Pertandingan kali ini menyaksikan Unitus Racing dari Amerika Syarikat yang diwakili pelajar dari James Madison Middle School, Virginia dan Southeast High School, Florida, Amerika Syarikat dinobatkan sebagai juara membolehkan mereka membawa pulang piala pusingan Bernie Ecclestone dan biasiswa dalam Kejuruteraan Sukan Permotoran di City University, London.
